Elaine - Bishop's Chorister

Congratulations to Elaine Hill, who recently took the examination for the RSCM Bishop's Chorister (Silver) award, and which she passed with Distinction, achieving a mark of 86%.

She was presented with her award by Bishop David Bentley during Choral Evensong in Lichfield Cathedral on 16th November. Also there receiving the Dean's (Bronze) award were Noelle Nurdin from St Oswald's Church, Oswestry, and Holly Anderson, Maddison Juggins, Gertrude Mukudziieshe, Amelia Spencer and Olivia Yates from St Peter's Collegiate Church, Wolverhampton.

After the awards had been presneted, the new Bishop's and Dean's Choristers joined the Cathedral Choir in singing the anthem - Herbert Howells' Jubilate (Collegium Regale).

Head Chorister

Carrie Ann Murray, who has been Head Chorister since Easter, has now "graduated" to the adult section of the choir. Geraldine Chong has been appointed Head Chorister in her place. Well done to both of them!

RSCM Area Festival - 5th October

The Minster Choir took part in the Royal School of Church Music Area Choirs' Festival in Lichfield Cathedral on Saturday, 5th October. They first took part in a 'choral surgery' with Ben Lamb, before rehearsing for the service which was directed by his wife Cathy Lamb - joint Directors of Music at Lichfield Cathedral. The choir is pictured in the Lady Chapel of the Cathedral after the service.
